On Sunday 3rd July 20 plus Clevedon Wildfowling Association members and members from 2nd Clevedon Scout Group joined forces to undertake the annual foreshore clean up along the sea wall from Channel view farm down to the mouth of the River Yeo.
The party litter picked over 2.5 kilometres of coast line collecting an array of times that had been left on the foreshore. Some of the more unusual items were, a chest freezer, a large TV, road signs, car tyres and lots of plastic. In total we collected enough rubbish fill seven 1 tonne dumpy bags which were kindly collected and disposed of by North Somerset Council.
Special thanks should go to Norman and Simon Harris who provided and drove the two dumpers which we used to collect the rubbish. The Committee would like to pass on their thanks to all club members who attended as well as members from 2nd Clevedon Scout group for what was an enjoyable afternoon doing our bit to keep our local stretch of coast clean.
